Hello! My name is Gabby and I am the owner of Whimsical Things.
I started Whimsical Things as a way to create beautiful developmentally and sensory friendly playroom accessories for my children and yours.
My goal is to seamlessly include children of all abilities in play, whether they can actively engage or not.
My first experience with playsilks was back when my son was still a baby, during an occupational therapy session. The therapist used a playsilk to work on object permanence and right then and there something magical happened: my son was able to play, in his own way, with that simple yet amazing piece. It was incredible to see how one piece of fabric could open the possibilities of play so much.
Fast forward to him now being 11 years old and still benefiting from the open ended benefits of playsilks, and now also watching my daughter using them to naturally include her brother in play, I am beyond excited to start my own collection of products that will engage children and adults in play.
