Velvet Covers
- Before washing, ensure zippers are all zipped up and pulls are safely tucked in the zipper cover/garage. This will protect your zippers from being damaged and help keep them running smooth.
- Wash with like colours.
- Machine wash in cold water, gentle cycle, and with mild detergent.
- Do not use abrasive detergents or stain removers. Do not bleach.
- Hang to dry. Do not iron.
- To remove wrinkles and creases from your velvet covers, we recommend using a garment steamer. Alternatively, you can wash them as recommended above and put them in the dryer in a delicate cycle. Wrinkles also tend to disappear with play.
- Cover handles are meant to assist in moving your foam items from place to place and can also assist children in maintaining balance when rocking on our Whimsy Rockers. Handles are not meant to be used as a hanging system and are not designed to withstand heavy and excessive pulling and tugging.
Waterproof Liners
- Before washing, ensure zippers are all zipped up and pulls are safely tucked in the zipper cover/garage. This will protect your zipper from being damaged and help keep it running smooth.
- Wash with like colours.
- Machine wash in cold water, gentle cycle, and with mild detergent.
- Do not use abrasive detergents or stain removers. Do not bleach.
- Hang to dry. Do not iron.
- Never put your liners in the dryer as the heat will damage the fabric.
Foam
- Open the box using scissors. Do not use knives and/or blades as those can easily damage your brand new product.
- Do not use knives and/or blades to remove the plastic wrapping and compression packaging. You will be able to unroll the outer plastic with just your hands and you can use scissors to cut open the vacuum packaging. Use caution not to damage the foam and covers if applicable.
- Your foam will quickly begin to regain shape once packaging is removed. Some products can be fully in shape in a matter of hours, while others may take from a week to 2 weeks to regain shape.
- In the event your product is taking longer than 24h to regain shape there are a few safe tricks to help speed up the process: Place your naked foam near a heat vent. Place your foam in the sun. Use a hair dryer to warm up the foam but keep it at a safe distance - Never touch the foam with the hair dryer as excess heat can damage it.
- If your foam product came with inner waterproof covers and outer velvet covers, those will not be fully zipped. Keep the zippers open as it will allow the foam to regain its shape quicker.
- Wrinkly covers are very normal when you first open your product. Please refer to our Cover Care instructions for help on how to remove wrinkles and creases safely.
Minky Blankets
- Machine wash in cold water, gentle cycle, and with mild detergent.
- Do not use fabric softener or dryer sheets. Wool dryer balls are okay.
- Hang to dry, or use a dryer on low heat setting. High heat will damage your blanket and melt the fabric fibers, causing it to become rough and visibly damaged.
- Do not iron.
Playsilks
- Hand wash in cold water with mild detergent.
- Hang to dry. Don’t worry, playsilks dry very quickly!
- Use a steamer to remove wrinkles and creases. Ironing is only advised on silk setting, and on the wrong/back side using a barrier fabric to protect the silk.
- Steaming makes your playsilk shiny and soft!
- When washed correctly, our playsilks get softer after each wash.
