We believe that caring for your playsilks is an essential part of preserving their magic. Here are some simple steps to ensure your playsilks remain vibrant and delightful:
Initial Soaking (Recommended!):
Our playsilks are hand-dyed with love and creativity, which means they haven’t been treated with color-setting chemicals. As a result, there’s a chance of color bleeding/transfer.
Before your child embarks on their imaginative adventures, we recommend giving the playsilk an initial soak following these steps:

Fill a basin or sink with cold water.

Add a small amount of mild soap or silk-specific detergent.

Place your playsilk in the water and gently swish it around.

Avoid leaving it soaking for too long; a quick process is all that’s needed.

As you soak the playsilk, you’ll see the water take on some of the hues of the dye. Don’t worry—it’s perfectly normal and expected to happen.

After this quick process, give the playsilk a rinse under cold running water.

Gently wring out any excess water. Remember, silk is delicate, so handle it with care
- Hang your playsilk to dry. You’ll be amazed at how quickly it dries—almost as if it’s eager to be part of the next adventure!
IMPORTANT! Avoid the washing machine and dryer
Our playsilks are precious, and machine washing or drying them would cause irreparable damage. Instead, treat them gently by following our care recommendations and they’ll reward you with endless playtime joy.
